SEMA 2019: G-FORCE Off-Road High Performance UTV Safety Gear

G-FORCE Off-Road division at SEMA 2019

If you’re familiar with racing, chances are the name G-FORCE Racing Gear will ring a bell. The safety gear specialist was at SEMA 2019 with an arsenal of products, and even had its G-FORCE Off-Road division on hand. We caught up with G-FORCE product specialist Taylor Postell so that he could explain the brand’s latest rugged off-road offerings — and we were really impressed with what we discovered.

Kicking things off is G-FORCE Racing Gear’s latest and greatest helmet release; referred to as the “Air Charge” UTV/Off-Road Helmet, Postell informs us that this design currently is the only DOT-compatible helmet on the market with an attached off-set air port. Affixed to the top left side of the helmet in order to avoid low profile cage clearance issues, Postell tells us that this location also prevents air from being blown directly into the mouth.

“We put a lot of design effort into this, so it doesn’t just blow random air throughout the helmet,” Postell tells us. “It’s channeled and designed to give you a very comfortable [wearing] experience.”

Sculpted out of fiberglass for superior construction, this heavy-duty helmet comes with a helmet skirt and channeled vents to prevent fogging. G-Force Racing Gear’s Air Charge helmet also comes ready for radio support and various other forms of modification, and has a reasonable $225 starting point.

The next product that we came across was the G-FORCE “Force-1” Off-Road Seat, which starts with an all-steel frame and adds rigid bolsters, marine-grade foam, and mildew-resistant vinyl in order to deter mold. Each seat cushion is removable, and therefore replaceable, which is handy considering that you can buy a cushion instead of an entire seat when the 4×4 season is over. To put it into context, these cushions retail for around $50, whereas a pair of “Force-1” Off-Road Seats run a cool $970 a set, and are not sold individually.

G-FORCE Off-Road "Force-1 Seats" offer a fully removable and replaceable lower cushion

Postell informs us that any color option imaginable is available for the same price as a normal seat, with a six-week lead time being the norm. He also tells us that the strengthened steel frame comes with mounts for easy install and provide additional containment over a traditional UTV seat. Comfort-wise, Postell says this product sits somewhere between a racing seat and a more cushy stock product. As expected, G-FORCE Racing Gear’s entire line of four-point and five-point harnesses are compatible with this seat, as well, and are 100-percent made in the USA.
