Circling around to the TeraFlex booth at SEMA this year, we were able to catch-up with Jeremy Poole for an exclusive walk-around of the brand’s “Slimer” 2018 Jeep JL. By giving us the rundown on some of the brand’s latest innovations, including those slick 17-inch alloy wheels, we were able to get a pretty good grasp of what TeraFlex has in store for us come 2019.
SEMA 2018: All-new Teraflex wheel and Alpine IR Bushing
A few of the key components that were touched upon during our walk-around were the brand’s long-arm suspension kit, TeraFlex-exclusive Falcon shocks, twin-piston braking system, sharp alloy rollers, and the all-new Alpine IR bushing setup. Being that the latter of the lot ended-up as the more unique duo of offerings from TeraFlex, we decided to focus on the brand’s bushings and wheels.
Building upon the Alpine bushing setup currently on the market, this latest evolution of the brand’s radius-rod bushing spins in place once bolted-in, allowing you to torque the hell out of the bushing. This 100-percent maintenance-free bushing does not require greasing, and comes with a sleeve that rotates 360 degrees in place. It also comes with a lifetime warranty.
As for those TeraFlex alloy wheels, this is a brand-new offering from the company, and will soon be made available in a variety of different colors. An air-deflator that is encompassed within the rim itself can also be outfitted on these aluminum beauties, and comes complete with pre-set PSI limits for peace of mind. It will accommodate up to a 40-inch tire. Available exclusively in a 17-inch configuration with a five-on-five lug pattern, Poole tells us that an 8-on-6.5 pattern is currently in the works and will be made available down the line.
Special valves on the wheels allow for airing down to a determined PSI.
The majority of these products will become available the first quarter of 2019, so save some of that Christmas cash so you can stock-up on TeraFlex control arms, bushings, brakes, wheels, and more. In the meantime, go ahead and check out more on the TeraFlex website and Facebook page.
