The short-course world was shaken up this week with the TORC series, but off-road racing in the mid-west isn’t all on life support. The Mid-West Off Road Racing series, a short-course off-road racing series for normal guys like you and me, guys working 40-plus hours a week but in their garage, instead of a project that is taking way to long to complete they have a purpose-built racing machine, just picked up a new title sponsor with the addition of Titan Fuel Tanks.
“Off-road is an important market for our company, anyone that is into any sort of off-roading drives a vehicle that we make a fuel tank for and many of us here at Titan love to off-road, we have staff members that have raced everything from motocross to Baja,” Titan Fuel Tanks marketing manager Mike DeFord explained. We started exploring a partnership with MORR in 2016. As the 2018 started coming together there were a lot of people questioning how strong the mid-west off road scene is, it became apparent to us at TITAN that we needed to get involved.”
The MORR racing series is made up of a wide range of classes.
The MORR series has some unique vehicles and some that may not be seen in traditional short-course racing like El Caminos, CJ5 Jeeps and large sedans fill some classes while others classes are for traditional off-road race machinery such as buggies, UTVs and trucks. The racing action in the MORR series is great and the majority of the classes are fan favorites.
Titan Fuel Tanks is more than just the title sponsor, they are investing in the drivers by giving back to them each and every race by offering contingency sponsorships for each and every driver in each of the 10 classes as well as year-end championship cash purses from UTVs and buggies to cars and trucks that race in the MORR series.
“While our goal with MORR is to make more people aware of our brand we have another goal, that is to help build and grow the MORR series,” DeFord continued. “We will be using MORR and MORR drivers in our marketing in an effort to bring the series more attention and get the drivers the credit that they deserve. We are not really considering our relationship with MORR as a sponsorship, we are treating it as a partnership.”
The first race of the MORR season kicks off June 23-24 in Crandon Wisconsin. For more information on Titan Fuel Tanks be sure to visit their website and check the full schedule of events for the MORR series on its website.
