One of the biggest problems when buying an LED light bar is having to drill into your vehicle to mount the LED light bar itself. Putting a permanent hole in your roof or bumpers not only looks bad but can lower the resale value of the vehicle.

Drilling directly into your roof can also cause water leaks and excessive wind noise. At the SEMA show this year we came across the Delta Lights booth, and they developed a good solution to this problem by using magnets.

Using magnets allows for all sorts of different mounting applications. The light bar can be mounted to the bumper, roof, frame, and many other places. This also makes it easy in applications like UTVs where mounting space can be limited and each UTV accepts different size light bars in different locations. You may be thinking “is a magnet really strong enough to hold a light bar on?” The answer is yes. Delta Lights is using magnets that hold the light bar to the vehicle with around 300 lbs of force; this should theoretically be plenty of force for most situations.

The set of light bars we checked out were 8,000 lumens each, which pulls about 25 watts per light bar. These light bars also have the ability to be dual-function: if you mount the light bars on the rear you could use the set as both a reverse light and brake light.

If you mount them on the front you could use them as a turn signal or off-road light. The whole idea of this series of light bars is to be versatile and work in many different situations on many different vehicles.
