At the SEMA show in Las Vegas, Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s RTR Vehicles set the stage to expand beyond Mustangs with its 600-horsepower Muscle Truck concept based on the 2018 Ford F-150.
While the man who calls himself the Ultimate Fun Haver has experimented with a truck carrying his nickname, Vaughn Gittin Jr. looks to move closer to adding another production vehicle to the RTR Vehicles repertoire. Known for creating Mustang RTRs that carry his drifting aesthetic to the streets since 2011, RTR Vehicles’ Muscle Truck concept debuting at the SEMA show is a strong hint that more is to come.
“I am a longtime fan of the entire F-Series lineup and the new 2018 F-150s are just mind-blowing on all fronts,” RTR creator Vaughn Gittin Jr. said. “Expanding RTR into the Ford F-150 model has been a goal since day one.
Setting the Muscle Truck apart from other F-150s is an exterior design package that includes an RTR skid plate, fender flares, forged RTR Tech 6 wheels, RTR badging, the signature RTR lighted grille, and an RTR tailgate appliqué. The interior is upgraded with Katzkin leather upholstery and the dash wears a plaque signed by the Ultimate Fun Haver himself, Vaughn Gittin Jr.
Clearly inspired by the Ultimate Fun Haver pickup that has seen action on pavement and dirt, Vaughn’s RTR Muscle Truck is said to be capable cruising on the street, drifting around corners, and jumping hills off-road. To do so, it features a supercharged, 600-horspower Coyote engine underhood along with an RTR long-travel, coilover suspension; RTR Tech 6 Off-Road wheels; and 33-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires.
“It has been amazing seeing my vision of the RTR Muscle Truck come to life with RTR’s unique, modern, aggressive styling and multipurpose functionality becoming reality,” Vaughn added. “Following some final vehicle dynamics testing and tuning, this smile-inducing truck will be ready for everyone to enjoy. This is just one of the multiple RTR models we expect to release through Ford dealers in 2018. Stay tuned!”
