In racing, you are only as strong as your weakest link. Some components that are often overlooked are rod ends and spherical bearings. With the help of FK Rod Ends, CJD Racing makes sure that they stay out in front of the pack.
Building suspension components, while racing and prepping their Class 10 racecar is all something they do in-house. “CJD Racing is a family-oriented team,” Michael Deardoff explained. “We started with a Class 16 car that my dad raced in the 80s and 90s. In the early 2000s, we bought a Class 12 car and then jumped into Class 10.
From heims to uniballs, CJD Racing uses a little of everything.
“We also build a lot of off-road vehicles that range from buggies to truck,” Deardoff continued. “In the last few years, we have expanded into the Nissan Titan market with full force creating suspension kits and bumpers.”
Some people jump on the bandwagon when they see other teams using a particular product which was not the case for Deardoff: “I can say that I used FK heims on my first truck that my dad built when I was 15. It’s easy to say I have been using them for 19 years now.”

In addition to using FK Rod Ends on their racecar, CJD Racing uses them in all the suspension components they create as well.
FK Rod Ends offers a wide range of products for a multitude of different applications. CJD Racing uses a variety of heims and uniballs. “We use multiple size heims ranging from 1/2-inch by 3/4-inch to 3/4-inch by 7/8-inch and even one-inch uniballs,” Deardoff explained. “We really like the quality and consistency of the product. We have never had an FK product fail which is very beneficial while racing.”
CJD Racing is finishing up their Class 10 and plan on making it out to a race very soon. We will stay in touch to see how they perform at their next race. For more information on FK Rod Ends’ products be sure to check out their website.
