BF Goodrich has been a staple in tires for all automotive markets, from street, to racetrack, and off-road. Here at the 2015 SEMA show we decided to see what’s new in the world of tires and what we can expect form the folks at BFG.
The BFG All-Terrain KO is synonymous with all-terrain. They are favored by users off-road and work vehicles alike for good reason, they have a proven record on and off the road. Winchester explained some of the new developments in this tire, “The All-Terrain TA KO2 replaces our previous all-terrain KO. We still kept the haringbone pattern here, but the big improvement was right here on the sidewall. If you remember the old one was kind of basic, but it had all the performance. This takes the performance and upgrades it, so it gets better traction, better durability, but now has a real aggressive look.”
For the performance street car, tire selection can be a seasonal issue depending where you live. In the past all-weather tires were not competitive with true performance dry or wet-weather tires. BF Goodrich has been advancing their tire design technology to fill that void in the industry, and offer enthusiasts an option that they can run year-round.
According to Richard Winchester of BFG, “The Comp-2 A/S is our newest all-season tire. It will replace the G4 Super Sport. We’ve actually won a couple of awards from SEMA this year, this won one of the best new products as well as the KO2.” The Comp-2 A/S will be available in sizing ranging from 15-22 inch diameters to fit a variety of applications.
BF Goodrich is always competing for the top position in the tire world, we look forward to their offerings in the future.
