SEMA vehicle builds are popping up more frequently as it gets closer to the show in Las Vegas, Nevada November 3rd to 6th at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Hyundai has teamed up with Rockstar Performance Garage to inject their 2016 Tucson with some off-road blood.
The build is taking place at Rockstar Performance Garage located in Murrieta, California. The vehicle came to the garage completely stock, but Rockstar Performance Garage did not keep it that way for long with the addition of King Shocks‘ first ever struts which will debut at the show.
They also upgraded the turbo piping with the help of Turbonetics, a high-flow Magnaflow exhaust and a new K&N intake and a intercooler from Mishimoto help the engine breathe more freely, providing a performance boost to the Hyundai’s 1.6-liter “Gamma” four-cylinder power plant.
You cannot have a off-road vehicle with out larger wheels and tires. KMC 17-inch XD Series “Bully” off-road wheels wrapped in 32-inch Mickey Thompson MTZ P3 tires give the Hyundai the stance it needs.
We would have never thought that Hyundai and off-road would be in the same sentence, but this mashup looks to be headed in the right direction. We will need to continue to follow the build and see it in person at the show to see how it turns out.
What do you think of this build, is it a match made in heaven or a complete disaster? Tell us in the comments below!
