LeDuc’s Win Streak Broken At Crandon

The Off Road Championship (TORC) finished off the 2015 season at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway in Crandon, Wisconsin this last weekend. The final rounds and the Amsoil Cup all went down on the most popular, and could be the greatest off-road racing track in the world.

Big name drivers like CJ Greaves, Johnny Greaves, Marty Hart, Keegan Kincaid, and Kyle LeDuc all came out to battle. LeDuc brought it win streak of 12 in a row, to Crandon looking to continue his dominance in the Pro 4WD class.

LeDuc brought his Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) win streak to battle against the rest of the top Pro 4WD drivers from the TORC series. In the weekend’s first round Leduc was up to his old tricks once again. Round 15 was LeDuc’s, continuing his dominance is such a competitive racing class.

“This little kid named TJ came up to me on his bike earlier today and said there was no way I was going to beat Johnny and CJ,” LeDuc said from the top step. “I wrote ‘You’re wrong, TJ’ on a piece of tape and had it in the truck with me. So TJ, you’re wrong!”

With his streak stretched to 13 in a row, it was time for the Round 16 and then the Amsoil Cup. As defending champion, LeDuc would have the bullsize on his truck. With the Greaves’ boys letting it be known that they would be giving it their all, leaving nothing behind in an effort to knock off LeDuc.

What could of been the most talked about contact all weekend happened at the start of Round 16 between Johnny Greaves and Kyle LeDuc. Battling for position the drivers went head to head into the first corners. Greaves bumped and eventually spun LeDuc out, receiving an immediate black flag and pushing LeDuc out of contention for the win.

The spin out may be talked about all this year as the reason to why LeDuc’s streak ended. Was it fair? Should they of restarted? Questions that many people may be asking, but in the end that is off-road racing.

With the streak over the Sunday’s afternoon cup race came and an early flat tire made LeDuc a non factor for the entire race. No one on the track could stop LeDuc, it was his own truck that would inhibit him from repeating at Crandon as the Amsoil Cup champion.

Some slight mishaps on the course may have slowed LeDuc down for the time being, but LeDuc’s number 99 “Steelo” will be read to lead the pack soon enough.

LeDuc still has his winning streak in LOORRS, if you look at it that way. He will be back at it protecting that streak when LOORRS heads to Las Vegas, Nevada for Rounds 15 and 16, September 18th and 19th.
