The great thing about the Off Road Xtreme shop is that there’s always something awesome going on. Just recently, we invited an old friend back in to undergo an upgrade that tied in perfectly with its first phase. That’s right, it’s the 2013 Jeep JKU we did our Eibach lift kit install on. The Jeep’s owner has been cautious to try and go anywhere on its stock footwear since receiving the lift, but that’s all about to change thanks to Mickey Thompson.

We selected the 16-inch Pro 2 wheel and 305/70R16 tire as our Deegan 38 combo for the JKU.

One of the biggest launches for the company this year has been that of the Deegan 38 line, including the Deegan 38 mud terrain tire (PN 56632) and Deegan 38 Pro 2 16-inch wheel (PN 7168431). The products’ namesake, Brian Deegan, has long been an icon of off-road competition, whether through the motocross, Pro 2, or Pro 4 high-speed racing scene.

Tough attitude and rugged perseverance are two qualities that define Deegan’s personality, and both are imbued into the Mickey Thompson tires and wheels as well. The Pro 2 wheels have a bold style about them, with their eight-spoke design and two-stage matte black finish. The center cap can pop on or off to suit an owner’s needs.

The Deegan 38’s aggressive looks and capabilities will go great with our project Wrangler JK.

The tires, meanwhile, have all the hallmarks of a Mickey Thompson tire that makes it great. Outer voids are wide to look mean and self-clean, while the inner voids are tight to provide a better contact patch as well as reduce road noise. Siping courses through the tread blocks to offer great all-season capability and surface contact too.
