Last weekend’s Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) in Estero Beach, Baja California, Mexico, had plenty of things happening for the first time. The LOORRS debuted in Baja, racing short-course for the first time, but that was not the only thing that happened.
Team Toyo Tires member Kyle LeDuc set a record for himself and Toyo Tires. LeDuc set the record for the most consecutive Pro 4 class wins in a season. Setting the record with his 10th win in a row this year, sweeping rounds 11 and 12 at the Estero Beach Resort, for the Battle South of the Border.
With the course consisting of primarily sand, Kyle LeDuc needed a tire that would help him get the traction he needed and be able continue his winning streak. “Normally, we race on well-packed, established dirt. In Mexico, it was literally sand, including a section of white beach sand,” said LeDuc. “Our Toyos made the difference by far. We had a huge advantage running them, and we proved it by always being the fastest every time on the track.”
Team Toyo was also succeeding in the Pro Lite class. Brandon Arthur was able to take a win home during Saturday’s round 11, and then a second place finish during round 12. “My team and our Toyo Open Country A/T II tires loved the Baja sand,” said Arthur. “My Toyo tires were hooked up and led me to a first on Saturday, and we followed it up with a second on Sunday.”
“A big congratulations to Kyle LeDuc for setting a record with 10 consecutive race wins this season in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series,” said Stan Chen, senior manager of events and sponsorships, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “We also congratulate Brandon Arthur for his round 11 win, and for his second place podium finish on Sunday. This was truly an awesome weekend for Team Toyo.”
Team Toyo looks to continue the streak later this month when LOORRS returns to the Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, Nevada on August 22 and 23 for the Silver State Showdown.
