People are crazy these days, but not many can top this lady who rammed a cop cruiser off the road in her Toyota pick up. According to the story, reported by Wusa9, the incident happened in Huntingtown, Maryland, where a woman, Jamie Marie Stroud, age 31, sped up and passed a car in front of her on highway 261 specifically to ram Deputy First Class Richard Wilson off the side of the road.
Deputy Wilson’s vehicle spun off the road and went through a fence on the front yard of someone’s property. Stroud proceeded to ram the cop car with her Toyota Tacoma and then got out of her vehicle and charged the officer.
He had already pulled his gun and fired several shots at her through his windshield in an effort to get her to stop. Stroud then abandoned her vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended with the help of witness. She has been charged with First Degree Assault and Second Degree Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.
Jamie Stroud is remaining silent, but one can’t help but ask why she did it. Huntingtown law enforcement is looking for answers and suspects that the incident is drug-related (and it probably is). No sane person does things like this, especially with how drastic and violent the situation happened.
Her best hope is to plead insanity for a minimal sentence and even then, Stroud is looking at a 10 year minimum. As much as she could have had a promising career as a stunt driver, it’s probably a good thing that she won’t be entering society again for a while.
