Omix-ADA is the world’s largest Jeep parts and accessories manufacturer and wholesaler. More than that, however, the company has a great deal of respect and sentiment for the old workhorses, and proof of that can be seen in the large collection of Jeep vehicles they own.
The company just acquired a 1978 Jeep J-10 pickup and a 1959 Jeep FC-150 Forward Control pickup following a hunt. With its collections of more than 30 Jeeps, ranging from 1942 Willys to a 2012 Jeep Wrangler JK Rubicon and everything in between, it was fitting that these two Jeeps found a new home here.
Director of Marketing Henk Van Dongen said, “The collection not only showcases some of the rarest vehicles in Jeep’s history, but also shows that Omix-ADA really is the one stop shop for all things Jeep. From 1941 to the present, top to bottom, we’ve got it covered.”
The 1959 Jeep FC-150 was produced from 1957 to 1965 by Willys and then Kaiser-Jeep. There were only 16,251 built, coming with a 134 ci F-head engine, generating 72 horsepower and 115 lb-ft. of torque.
These model Jeeps were primarily marketed as work vehicles for companies, municipal, military and even to civilians. The pickup box beds were standard, but the people who purchased them were offered a large number of “Jeep approved” bodies from outside suppliers.
Rare interior options on the Jeep J-10 Pickup shine in the form of Levi's denim.
On the flipside, the 1978 Jeep J-10 pickup was acquired by Omix-ADA with some very intriguing traits. The J-10 pickup came with an exclusive Levi denim interior and air conditioning, both rare options in this model.
The J-10 came with three different motor options including a 4.2L AMC straight-six, a 5.9L AMC V8, and a 6.6L AMC V8. The Jeep J-10 had a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. It also came with optional brush guards and light bar.
Starting in July 2015 both of these vehicles will be on display in an all-new, 20-vehicle rotating collection of vintage and historic Jeeps at the company’s headquarters in Suwanee, Georgia. You are able to get a complimentary private tour of the collection on select days which can be found by contacting Omix-ADA.
