One of the most popular films from the 90s is finally having its long-awaited sequel. Jurassic World, the next installment in the Jurassic Park series, will hit theaters this summer. If you are a fan of the series you haven’t been the only one waiting for the next sci-fi dinosaur thriller.
Mercedes-Benz has been waiting a long 18 years since they made their first appearance in ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’. In this 1997 movie, the Mercedes-Benz M-Class made its first official appearance on the silver screen, and in this year’s film Mercedes-Benz will be debuting another vehicle, the new GLE Coupe.
Staring along side the GLE Coupe is Mercedes-Benz famed G63 AMG 6×6, various Sprinter models, and even the Unimog. Mercedes-Benz’s most popular luxury vehicle the G63 6×6 is certainly a sight to be seen. For those not familiar with the vehicle, the G63 6×6 is a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 mated to a seven-speed transmission, and even comes with a diamond-stitched leather interior.

Keeping this massive vehicle above the ground are Öhlin gas-bypass shocks, stiffer springs, better bump stops, and custom aluminum pieces. The G63 6×6 gives you the best of off-road equipment with 18-inch beadlocks, 37-inch all-terrain tires, and the luxury that Mercedes-Benz provides in their vehicles. It will definitely be exciting to see what dinosaurs Steven Spielberg has chase down this prized possession.
The G63 6×6 will have the power and durability to outrun whatever is chasing it with its 536 hp and 561 lb-ft of torque. With approach angles of 50 degrees and departure angles of 45 degrees, the 6×6 will have no problem going over anything in its way. It will also take quite a bit to get it stuck as well, as it has a 50 degree breakover angle.
One vehicle that people may not even know Mercedes-Benz produces is the Unimog. We do not see many of these if any here in the States, but they are a very heavy-duty rig. Used a lot in commercial settings, the Unimog actually has over 1,000 different type of applications. It can be used to haul, to push and to scoop anything you can think of.
One area that the Unimog has been popular with is the Dakar rally race which is held in the treacherous terrain of Peru, Bolivia, and Argentina. In the world’s perspective the Unimogs have been considered one of the ultimate off-road vehicles.

You would think that these almost 26,000 pound vehicles would be the ones all the race teams use to chase their rally car or truck, and they were originally used for that, but in actuality you will now see the Unimog racing. It may not be the fastest vehicle out on the course, having a top speed of around 55 miles per hour, but the Unimog does have a 5.1-liter four-cylinder diesel motor with a transmission equipped with six reverse gears and eight forward gears.
Also joining in on the fun is Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans. With their ability to convert to many different forms, they’re perfect for an all-around vehicle that the stars of this film can use to throw whatever dinosaur catching devices they need to it. Sprinter vans have also become quite popular in the motocross world to take the bikes to and from events while still being able to secure everything you may need for racing inside.
Mercedes-Benz is usually not known for their extreme off-road vehicles but we are sure that they will be abused and put to the test in the film when it hits theaters this summer. We will see if any of the dinosaurs from the first couple films make an appearance and try to get their claws on one of Mercedes-Benz’s awesome vehicles, maybe T-Rex will get his revenge in this must see summer film.
