We here at Off Road Xtreme are big fans of the Ford Bronco, and really, why shouldn’t we be? For the off-road enthusiast, the Ford Bronco represents a badass trail rig that for its time, also represented a pretty decent daily driver. With a short wheelbase, plenty of ground cleareance, potent powerplant options, and a sturdy four-wheel-drive system that featured a unique twin-traction-beam front suspension, the Ford Bronco was and is a great off-roader.Ā
As off-road enthusiasts and Bronco lovers, we do try to keep an eye out for Broncos that are really unique. Thankfully, the Bronco chassis was pretty robust and you can find them all over the internet being built as trail rigs, rock crawlers, and prerunners. But what do you do if you really want your Bronco to stand out? The answer is simple, build it into something that has a touch of modern withĀ a para-military SHTF-style.
Such is the case with this desert tan colored 1991 Ford Bronco we found on the My Classic Garage social network. Codenamed “Operation Fearless,” this 1991 Bronco was built to pay homage to the late Adam Brown, a Navy SEAL Chief who was killed in action after placing himself in the line of fire to protect other members of his unit ā a true American hero. In the spirit of building a truck for a fallen hero, Operation Fearless was designed with a heavy military-inspired design that can be found from top to bottom on the build.Ā
Inside the truck, the military theme is strong with custom Navy SEAL gauges to keep tabs on the truck’s vitals, custom patches on the seats with Brown’s initials, and numerous ammo boxes for storage denoting one of the military’s favorite types ā 5.56 NATO rifle ammo. In addition, there are quite a few other little bits and pieces that would make a warriorĀ feel right at home should they enterĀ Operation Fearless, such as a black and tan color scheme, a center console with military-inspired switches, and fabric glovebox latches that look like they came straight off of a G.I.’s gear bag.Ā
On the exterior, this same military-inspired theme continues and really shines to create a one-of-a-kind Ford Bronco. If you follow the build, it becomes very apparent that no detail was spared from the fiberglass one-piece front clip, fiberglass rear fenders, heavily restored frame, seriously off-road focused tires and wheels, and a matte desert tan paint job that looks ready for duty.
What’s more, the stock powerplant was thrown to the curb for this build and in its place sits a Ford Racing 5.0-liter (302 ci) DOHC Aluminator V8 crate engine ā something that really ups the “wow” factor of this build! It’s very obvious that this truck was built to take on whatever it comes across and there is no better proof of this than the Warn winch up front combined with theĀ Rigid Industries lights that adorn the front bumper and sit atop the roof rack.
Finally, to go along with the custom bumpers, you have to take notice of the truly awesome front headlight/grille package that is far from stock and really completes the overall look.
With a truck that looks this great, it makes it all that much better to know the “why” behind the build. So let us know what you think of it in a comment below!
