The 9th annual Nitto King of the Hammers(KOH) is already gearing up to be the largest event ever in its short but explosive history. Taking place the first week of February in 2015, the event takes place in Landers, California and is one of the toughest tests a vehicle and its drivers will ever go through.
So what makes KOH so tough? KOH is an event that features no chase vehicles, which means repairs can only be made on the track by the racers or in the designated pit areas. Drivers and vehicles will experience extremes ranging from 100 mph-plus speeds on desert terrain to extreme rock climbing.
Sounds great right? How about getting out of the spectator stands and actually behind the wheel this year? It’s actually a lot easier than you might think. Follow just six steps and you could be showing up to race at the 2015 King of the Hammers Smittybilt Every Man Challenge.
The Six Easy Steps:
- Make sure your vehicle meets KOH tech rules and you have proper safety equipment.
- Create a driver profile at www.ultra4racing.com/races and register for the KOH 2015 race.
- Pay for your race.
- Sign up for USAC Insurance.
- Be prepared for some additional mandatory costs.
- Show up and race!
If #5 has you a little bit worried, don’t be. In a way it’s great to have a sanctioning body warning you what to expect when it comes to costs. Instead of telling you it’s very easy, and then surprising you with unexpected costs. Trust us, that doesn’t happen that often.
