No Jeep Wrangler stays stock for too long. For the enthusiasts that continue to make the SUV the prime choice for weekend adventures, the list of add-ons, upgrades, and accessories is virtually endless, and aftermarket companies like Volant Performance are always on board with creating new items to make the four-wheeler the best it can be.
In the case of the 2014 JK seen here, Volant was keen to demonstrate how capable and strong its PowerCore technology is, while also getting the vehicle prepped for off-road punishment. Though the build has yet to be totally finished, the above photo shows just how far the 4×4 has come.
The team started a four-inch, long-arm lift kit from Rough Country. From there, they equipped the Jeep with dual steering stabilizers for added capability while out and about, as well as skid plates stretching the length of the undercarriage.
Since no one ever goes off-roading wishing they’d installed fewer light elements, the crew got the JK better lit with a windshield-mounted 50-inch lightbar (with plans to add a hood-mounted 20-inch lightbar), courtesy of Rigid Industries. Out back, the black twill Bestop Trektop takes care of protecting the Jeep’s interior contents, while the engine bay’s contents will soon be shielded by a slick RK Sport carbon fiber hood, complete with ram-air support.
Volant, for its part, swapped in a brand new sealed-box intake system and combined it with a CORSA exhaust system to boost the output by over 15 horsepower and 20 pound-feet of torque. The power gets put out to meaty 35-inch Toyo Open Country Mud Terrains mounted on 17-inch Black Rhino Glamis wheels.
Expect to see this finished masterpiece make its way to the following events this year: the L&G Enterprises Custom Truck Shop Open House, September 13th; Rebel Off Road‘s Open Bunker Day, September 27th; and the Lucas Oil Off Road Expo, October 4th and 5th. We can’t wait to see it at some of these three events, where it will make a big splash with showgoers.
