There are instances when a person stops themselves and really wonders, truly digs deep to figure out just why something is the way it is. Almost in a “what is the meaning of life” sort of way. I was smacked with one of those such occasions earlier today. While blundering around the Web, I stumbled across a Jeep CJ-7 on eBay that was like no other I had ever seen before.
The CJ-7+7, as it has been labelled, is unlike any other Jeep on the face of the planet. In so many ways, it straight up took my breath away. Stretched a significant amount, the all steel body has had an extra set of door openings grafted in. Based on body lines and such, it appears two CJ-7 tubs donated their lives to allow this Frankenstein’s Monster to live. No top comes with the purchase price, the current owner just never had time to get one done. The rig is always garage kept when it’s not out in front of a used car lot attracting customers.
Rolling around on 52-inch Michelins wrapped around eight-lug 20-inch rims, this rig is high. The chassis rests on an airbag and link suspension with 12-28 inches of travel. Spinning those tires are what appear to be 12-bolt front and 14-bolt Corporate rear axles; leave a comment if you think it’s something different.
To get enough oomph to move those heavy Military meats is a “gorgeous small block Chevy 350” and a Turbo 350 transmission. The owner admits she needs a little bit of work. The steering box needs to be mounted more securely to avoid flexing the frame and mount.
Loaded with a Chevy 350 Small Block and up to 18-inches of wheel travel, this rig has some amazing qualities ...
What would you do with a monster like this? Would you take it out on the trails? Mud? Cruise the streets and see how many police cars you can stack up behind you, like you are playing Grand Theft Auto? Let us know!
Currently the Jeep is listed for just under $26,000 on a Buy It Now. Would you pay that?
