Yamaha created the industry’s first 998cc inline-three cylinder. The YXZ1000R engine offers and amazing amount of power, midrange torque and a 10,500 rpm redline. The YXZ1000R also utilizes an all-new sequential 5-speed manual transmission with reverse. This transmission that permits rapid and smooth shifting, ideally matched to the potent three-cylinder engine.
The YXZ1000R’s comes with piggyback FOX 2.5 Podium RC2 Shocks which helps in the performance of the SXS in all terrains. All four corners are fully adjustable; spring preload, rebound and both high- and low-speed compression damping. This SXS has 16.2-inches of front travel and 17.0-inches at the rear, with factory sway-bars front and rear.
Pack a lot when heading out to the trail with your SXS? No worries, the YXZ1000R’s composite cargo bed has with a 300-pound capacity and four steel tie-down points. One of the biggest selling points besides the performance for this SXS, is the fact that the Yamaha YXZ1000R is made in the USA. The YXZ1000R is assembled in Newnan, Georgia.
Will the all-new Yamaha YXZ1000R be able to keep up with the rest of the SXS market? Only time will tell, but from the sounds of it and what was portrayed in the video, Yamaha may have hit this one out of the park.
