For motocross enthusiasts, a tabletop jump offers a relatively safe alternative to double or triple jumps as there is actually something in between the landing and the takeoff if you were to come up short. While these “safer” jumps can still be dangerous, they do allow riders to build up their jumping skills before moving to the more technical double and triple jump formats.

Coming up a bit short…

With that being said, how many times have you looked at a motocross track and thought about whether or not your truck could jump it? Well, as it turns out, the owner of this black Ford Raptor decided to take action and actually tried to jump a tabletop with his truck – twice. As the video shows, the Raptor first attempted the jump on a rainy day and it didn’t end up well. The flat “table” top section that gives the obstacle its name and provides a safer landing than nothing at all, was actually a hindrance for this attempt as the Raptor’s rear tires made contact with the top section which in turn drove the front tires, and the bumper, right into the ground.

Hellbent on successfully landing the jump, the owner returned once the track dried up and successfully made the jump. As the video shows, the landing of the second attempt looks downright plush since he landed perfectly on the downside, and while the truck did cycle through its travel, it didn’t appear to be a harsh landing at all.
