In the world of off-road performance, few names carry the weight and pedigree of Fox. From desert racing to trail rigs, Fox shocks have long been the gold standard for balancing comfort, control, and capability. Now, the suspension giant is rewriting the rulebook again — this time by bringing its cutting-edge Live Valve technology to the aftermarket.

Officially unveiled at the 2025 SEMA Show, the new Fox Live Valve Aftermarket Kits mark a major leap forward, offering a semi-active suspension system that senses, interprets, and adapts to terrain and driver input hundreds of times per second. Once exclusive to select OEM platforms like the Ford Raptor and Polaris RZR, Live Valve is now available as a bolt-on upgrade for popular trucks and Jeeps — including the Ford Bronco, Jeep Wrangler JL, Jeep Gladiator JT, Toyota Tacoma, and Ford F-150.

How It Works: Sense, Interpret, and Adapt

At the heart of Fox’s Live Valve system is a blend of proven race-winning hardware and advanced computing. The foundation is Fox’s Factory Race internal bypass shock — technology born in Baja — now enhanced with solenoids, sensors, and a high-speed control unit.

Sense: A network of sensors, including an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), constantly monitors the vehicle’s pitch, yaw, and roll. Combined with real-time data such as throttle position, brake pressure, steering angle, and wheel speed, Live Valve builds a complete picture of what your rig is doing at every instant.

Interpret: That data flows into the Live Valve Electronic Control Unit (ECU), which runs Live IQ, FOX’s proprietary software algorithm. It interprets what’s happening beneath the tires and calculates the ideal damping forces for each wheel — all in milliseconds.

Adapt: The shocks then react instantly, adjusting damping to suit conditions. Whether you’re hitting a washboard at speed, cresting a jump, or diving into a turn, the suspension adapts in real time to keep your rig composed and your tires planted.

Tuned For Every Terrain

Off-roaders know the eternal struggle of compromise — plush comfort on the trail often means a sloppy feel on pavement, while stiffer setups punish you over rough ground. Live Valve promises to eliminate that trade-off.

Drivers can toggle between On-Road, Off-Road, and Custom modes using an in-cabin selector, each offering further tuning between Comfort, Balanced, and Sport. It’s like having multiple shock tunes built into one system — all accessible at your fingertips.

Even better, Fox’s new Connect App brings the system into the digital age. Through your phone or tablet, you can monitor live telemetry, view GPS-mapped ride data, and even receive over-the-air updates for new features or performance enhancements.

The Benefits: Race-Bred Intelligence For Real-World Use

Fox’s Live Valve platform isn’t just about luxury-level ride quality — it’s designed to handle the harshest environments while delivering race-proven control.

  • Real-Time Adaptability: The system adjusts damping on the fly to absorb bumps, reduce brake dive, and limit body roll — automatically.
  • Enhanced Control: Whether you’re towing, crawling, or carving sand washes, Live Valve keeps the chassis stable and predictable.
  • Race Heritage: Based on the same internal bypass architecture that FOX uses in its desert race shocks, Live Valve retains the mechanical durability hardcore off-roaders demand.
  • Data-Driven Performance: With the Connect App, you can record and replay runs, fine-tune your suspension, and keep the system updated over time.

Fitments, Pricing, and Availability

FOX will begin shipping full-vehicle Live Valve kits in early 2026, with initial fitments and pricing as follows:

VehicleModel YearsMSRP (USD)
Ford Bronco2021+$8,995.95
Jeep Wrangler JL2018+$7,495.95
Jeep Gladiator JT2020+$7,495.95
Toyota Tacoma2024+$8,495.95
Ford F-150 (Gen 14 SuperCrew)2021–2023, 2024+$8,495.95

Each system is engineered specifically for its vehicle platform, integrating sensors and calibration parameters unique to that chassis.

The Big Picture: The Future Of Off-Road Suspension

For decades, off-road suspension tuning has been an art form — balancing spring rates, compression damping, rebound curves, and bypass tube geometry. Fox’s Live Valve doesn’t replace that craftsmanship — it builds on it. By blending hardware and software, the company has essentially created a suspension ecosystem that learns and evolves.

As semi-active systems like Live Valve become more accessible, we’re seeing a new era of off-road performance emerge — one where technology bridges the gap between comfort and capability.

Whether you’re daily-driving a lifted Tacoma, tackling the Rubicon in a Wrangler, or bombing desert trails in a Bronco, Live Valve promises one thing: the perfect tune, in every moment, on any terrain.
