Jeep continues to dig deep into its heritage with the unveiling of the 2027 Wrangler Laredo, the ninth installment in the brand’s yearlong Twelve 4 Twelve special-edition program. While the series has already resurrected several iconic names and themes from Jeep’s past, the return of the Laredo badge may be one of the most nostalgic yet, bringing back a trim that helped define the Wrangler’s evolution from rugged workhorse to lifestyle icon.
Like the previous Twelve 4 Twelve releases—including the Sarge, Whitecap, Moab 392, Willys 392, and other limited-edition Wranglers—the new Laredo isn’t just an appearance package. Instead, Jeep has blended vintage-inspired styling with genuine off-road capability, creating a Wrangler that looks back at the brand’s history without sacrificing the trail performance enthusiasts expect today.

Another Chapter In The Twelve 4 Twelve Story
Jeep launched the Twelve 4 Twelve program as a yearlong celebration of Wrangler heritage, introducing a new special edition each month that pays tribute to significant milestones, memorable trim packages, and iconic moments throughout the brand’s history. Rather than simply recreating old models, each release reimagines a classic Jeep theme with modern engineering and contemporary technology.
The Laredo continues that formula by reviving one of Jeep’s most recognizable nameplates. Originally introduced during the closing years of the CJ era before carrying into the first Wrangler models in 1987, the Laredo represented a shift toward greater comfort and premium appointments while maintaining authentic four-wheel-drive capability. For many enthusiasts, it marked the point where Jeep successfully blended everyday livability with legendary trail performance.
“The Laredo name represents a pivotal moment in the Jeep brand’s evolution, and bringing it back was an opportunity to build on that legacy,” said Bob Broderdorf, Jeep brand CEO. “With Wrangler Laredo, we set out to create something that stands apart, while staying true to what the Jeep brand does best, delivering proven, trail-rated capability our customers can count on. It blends that capability with distinctive design, premium materials and unmistakable character, creating a Wrangler that feels true to its roots while offering something entirely new.”

From Easter Jeep Safari Concept To Production Reality
One of the most impressive aspects of the new Wrangler Laredo is just how closely it mirrors the concept vehicle that debuted earlier this year at Easter Jeep Safari. Jeep enthusiasts immediately gravitated toward its southwestern-inspired styling, and unlike many concepts that lose their personality before reaching production, the showroom version remains remarkably faithful to the original design.
Inspired by the rugged landscapes surrounding its Texas namesake, the Wrangler Laredo embraces earth-tone colors, heritage-inspired graphics, bronze accents, and perhaps most notably, the long-awaited return of Jeep’s iconic tan soft top. It’s a combination that immediately sets the model apart from the rest of the Wrangler lineup while paying tribute to one of the brand’s most memorable eras.

Heritage Style Meets Trail Capability
Although its styling steals the spotlight, the Wrangler Laredo doesn’t sacrifice substance for nostalgia. Built on the Wrangler Willys platform, every Laredo comes standard with Jeep’s Xtreme 35 Package.
That package includes 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires mounted on bronze beadlock-capable wheels, along with a one-inch suspension lift that increases both ground clearance and off-road capability.
Exterior details continue the heritage theme throughout the vehicle. A unique Gobi-colored grille creates a distinctive front-end appearance, while vintage-inspired hood graphics and modernized bodyside decals reference classic Jeep styling without feeling dated. Bronze tow hooks complement bronze Jeep and Trail Rated badging, while a rear lasso-style “4WD” decal provides another subtle nod to the Wrangler’s western inspiration.
Buyers can choose between two-door and four-door body styles. The signature tan soft top returns as the centerpiece of the package, while four-door models can be equipped with Jeep’s Sky One-touch Powertop. Traditional black hardtops remain available on both body configurations for buyers seeking a more conventional appearance.
Practicality hasn’t been overlooked either, with an available trailer hitch providing up to 3,500 pounds of towing capacity.

Premium Cabin With Western Flair
Inside, Jeep moves well beyond traditional Wrangler fare. The cabin is anchored by an upscale Bison Brown color scheme highlighted by premium Nappa leather seating with heated, power-adjustable front seats.
Mayan Gold contrast stitching appears throughout the interior, while Global Black trim wraps the instrument panel, grab handle, door armrests, and center console to create a striking two-tone appearance. The result feels upscale without abandoning the Wrangler’s rugged personality.
Exclusive Laredo badging reinforces the model’s unique identity, including a rear swing-gate plaque featuring the geographic coordinates of Laredo, Texas, and a custom center-console badge unique to the special edition. Jeep designers even incorporated a subtle cowboy hat motif into the HVAC controls, providing a playful tribute to the American Southwest that owners may not notice immediately.

Pricing And Availability
Orders for the 2027 Jeep Wrangler Laredo open later this month. Jeep says the package will carry a starting MSRP premium of just $1,995 over a Wrangler Willys equipped with the Xtreme 35 Tire Package, making it a relatively attainable way for enthusiasts to own one of the brand’s heritage-inspired limited editions.
With the Twelve 4 Twelve program now entering its final stretch, the Wrangler Laredo continues Jeep’s successful formula of blending history with capability.
