Prepare thyself, all ye Gladiator enthusiasts! The Jeep truck is a pretty wild and versatile vehicle that has enjoyed ongoing success and popularity. Considering its appeal to off-road and overlanding enthusiasts, it is not uncommon to see new names jump into the aftermarket and outfitter game. Garvin Wilderness is one brand name that is not new but has released its new Jeep Gladiator Racks and Rock Rails.
Crafted in the U.S.A. from 100-percent American steel, Garvin has been producing some of the industry’s highest-rated bolt-on cargo solutions for decades. Knowing full well the challenges and (storage headaches) associated with owning a Jeep, which the Gladiator is not exempt from, Garvin developed a choice selection of armor and carrier solutions for those fearless Gladiator owners.
The California-based brand presents two different rack styles and options along with some beefy Rock Rail protective sliders. Both of the rack systems are in tune with Garvin’s most popular product lines.
The Jeep Gladiator Adventure Racks
As for the whole “rack” side of the selection process, Garvin has crafted its own “choose your own adventure” scenario for Jeep Gladiator owners. The first of the paths that can be taken leads to the Garvin Adventure Rack for the Gladiator.
Marketed as “…a great way to add a roof top tent or kayaks, and still utilize the truck bed for other cargo…” the Adventure Rack is an all-in-one solution for overhead gear transit solutions. Produced from 1.75-inch diameter steel tubing, this bolt-on setup mounts to the front cowling bolt holes and then clamps into the rain gutter for a clean zero-drill install.
Priced at $1,250, this rack is engineered to haul up to 300 pounds of dynamic weight, and 600 pounds of the static stuff. This rack system has been designed to mate up with the Jeep Gladiator (JT) factory hardtop. A fantastic starting point for needing a strong backbone upon which to build off of.
The Jeep Gladiator Expedition Racks
Another Garvin Jeep Gladiator Rack option you can select for your next safari is the Expedition Rack system. This basket rack-style carrier setup sports a far different look, and offers more containment than its spartan tubular sibling.
Produced from .75-inch diameter square tubing (as opposed to the round tubes on the Adventure Rack), the Expedition Rack does retain the same mounting points as its more bare-bones alternative. Front cowling to the rain gutter, no drilling required, you get the picture.
But the basket feature is the big upgrade here. And since Garvin has been producing this cargo rack basket for various applications, there are a host of accessory add-ons to be had. This includes everything from off-road light mounts and wind deflectors, like those shown in these images, to tool mounts and Rotopax attachments. If you still want to rock a jerry can, they got that too.
Following further down the same trail lines as the previously discussed Adventure Rack comes the fact that the Expedition Rack can handle up to 300 pounds of shifting/dynamic weight, and 600 pounds of immovable objects.
Valued at $1,520, this workhorse of a top carrier will clamp onto any Jeep Gladiator (JT) with a factory hardtop.
Garvin’s JT Gladiator Rock Rails
Now that you have reviewed the Jeep Gladiator Racks and seen the cargo-carrying potential, are you getting the hankering to hit the trail? Before you do, perhaps consider some additional vehicle protection with the Garvin Gladiator Rock Rails.
Designed to bolt onto 2020 and newer Jeep JT trucks, these Garvin Rock Rails are very robust. Constructed from super stout .120-inch thick wall square tubing, these 2-inch diameter sliders have more to offer. A 1.5-inch diameter round tube completes the package as a side step and additional side protection. And while they may act as a step 95 percent of the time, these frame-mounted Rock Rails are always ready for some off-road abuse.
For $830, these come zinc-primed and powder-coated rails come in stealthy black color. All mounting hardware is included as well. If you are a vertically challenged Jeep fan, these rails remain 100-percent compatible with Garvin Racks’ Rock Rail Step (#44307).
The Garvin Rock Rails double as side steps for easier cabin access on lifted Gladiator vehicles.
