Those like me, who were born in the 80s will remember the countless hours we spent building, tearing apart, and cannibalizing other Lego kits to build the ultimate whatever. When we heard that Lego was going to reveal a Land Cruiser kit we were as excited as if we were opening the mailbox to see a box full of new truck parts. The saying is true “Boys don’t really grow up, their toys just get bigger.”
Lego went all out making sure everything looks like the real deal.
We are actually quite impressed at the level of detail Lego designers went through to make this cruiser rather real looking. Pop the hood and you will find a functioning serpentine belt and fan. An Optima yellow top was chosen to power the massive flood lights on the cattle guard.
Attention to detail was the name of the game in this build.
Surprisingly the interior looks very comfortable, if you’re a two inch tall plastic Lego character. Four functioning doors also add to the realism. A removable hard-top has been added to aid in the loading and unloading of gear that would be needed on safari.
This kit is everything the gearhead and Lego nerd could ever want. One building the ultimate overland rig needs to look no further than a properly equipped Land Cruiser. Why not get the kids interested in off-roading early by picking up this kit for Christmas. Do you wish LEGO had kits like this when you were growing up? Let us know in the comment section.
