King of the Hammers week is officially in the books, and Off Road Xtreme was their taking in the sights and sounds at the end of the week. The end of the week held host to the Smittybilt Everyman Challenge, and then unlimited King of the Hammer race on Friday.
We will be bringing you all the highlights of the action we saw while out on the dry lake bed – plenty of carnage, trucks, and Hammertown. We will also be taking a closer look a Hammertown and what makes it the fastest growing city for one week of the year.
We spread out wide to cover King of the Hammers from many point perspectives. We will also take a look some of the obstacles that the teams had to go up against, and what makes this the toughest off-road race in America.
Just some of the racing action we captured while out at KOH.
This year we saw three different types of vehicles leave the starting line – solid axle, independent front suspension (IFS), and IFS and independent rear suspension (IRS). Everyone team has what they think is the best design for the race, but which one is best suited for a race of this caliber.
Stay tuned all week long for updates from this year’s King of the Hammers. Did you make it out to Hammertown? If so, what was your favorite part of the week? Tell us in the comments below!
