Introducing The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado Sport Concept

Chevrolet Colorado Sport conceptRecently unveiled at the State Fair of Texas, the Chevrolet Colorado Sport concept is an all-new midsize pickup truck to suit those outdoor needs. Whether throwing in a couple of mountain bikes, a few fishing poles, a pair of kayaks, or some camping gear, the Chevy Colorado concept is completely outdoors-oriented.

“It’s not just mountain bikes, but just about any passion you can name, from kayaking, fishing, dirt bikes and more,” said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. “It’s a truck for those who need the versatility of a pickup to support their work and lifestyle interests, but don’t need a full-size truck to do it.”

Chevrolet Colorado Sport conceptThe two power options available include the 2.5-liter four-cylinder, better suited for commuters with 27 mpg on 2WD models, or the heavy-duty 3.6-liter V6 engine putting down 305 horsepower. Weighing in at 7,000 pounds, it has the highest trailering rating out of its segment.

Functionality was highly considered when designing the quiet cabin, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot was added through Chevy MyLink. The Colorado also includes advanced technology in the form of Lane Departure Warning and Forward Collision Alert. An option only offered on the Colorado is easy lift-and-lower tailgate and bumper assist steps.

Given a GearOn Accessory System, permits the storage of large items such as bicycles or kayaks above the bed of the truck, leaving room for the smaller necessities such as coolers, tents, etc. inside of the bed. Other GearOn accessories available at Chevy dealers include: Assist steps, cargo rings, splash guards, tiered storage, bike rack, cargo divider, and wheel lip moldings.

If opting for additional accessories, some dealers may factor it into financing when buying a new Colorado, with the truck as well as accessories all covered by the new-vehicle warranty. The wheels are being evaluated for possible future production.

The new Colorado starts at $20,995 for a four-door model with the four-cylinder capable of 200-horsepower.

You can see for yourself at the 2014 SEMA Show come this November!
