When you park your 4×4 and walk away, you expect it to be there when you get back. Unfortunately, in many places vehicle theft is rampant. In fact, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that more than 1 million vehicles were stolen in the United States in 2023. Want to lessen the chance of your rig being swiped? Check out Ultimate9’s evcX Throttle Controller, which offers a Lock Mode that blocks all throttle input from the accelerator pedal.

One way to activate the Ultimate9 evcX Lock Mode is via the driver interface. After activating Lock Mode you can unplug and remove the interface to make it inaccessible to thieves.
Effectively Foil Vehicle Theft
Lock Mode is a standard feature of the Ultimate9 evcX Throttle Controller. It can thwart thieves by disabling all throttle input, providing an extra layer of theft prevention. Even if they manage to bypass your 4×4’s factory theft prevention system and start the engine, they won’t be able to accelerate the vehicle and drive away. Additionally, they won’t easily identify the source of the unresponsive throttle. This is because Lock Mode is managed through the setting menu on the driver interface or via the Ultimate9 TC (Throttle Control) app. The evcX driver interface can be conveniently disconnected and carried with you or concealed in the vehicle before leaving it unattended. When you return, simply use the driver interface or app to unlock Lock Mode.
All-Inclusive Kit
Everything needed to install the evcX Throttle Controller is included in the kit. It contains the driver interface, evcX unit with wiring harness, zip ties, a spare adhesive pad for the back of the driver interface, a carry case for the driver interface, a quick start guide, an app guide, and more.

The free Ultimate9 TC (Throttle Control) app connects to the evcX via Bluetooth. This makes it easy to control the evcX’s settings, including Lock Mode, via your cell phone.
The EVCX Offers Lock Mode And More
In addition to thief-thwarting Lock Mode, the evcX Throttle Controller offers a variety of additional features. It allows you to fine-tune your vehicle’s throttle with 8 driving modes and 32 levels of adjustability. The system is plug-and-play, and it can be easily installed in less than 15 minutes. The evcX controller is simply connected in-line between the factory plug and throttle pedal assembly. The driver interface can be placed on the dash or console of the vehicle. The evcX offers eight modes as follows:
- Ultimate9 Mode: This offers maximum throttle enhancement.
- Ultimate Mode: Allows enhanced throttle response along with the choice of nine sensitivity levels to fine-tune your vehicle’s response.
- Launch Mode: Controlled, maximum throttle enhancement for improved takeoffs. The Launch Mode’s initial response is modified compared to Ultimate9 Mode to try and reduce wheel spin and increase traction.
- Adapt Mode: Based on your pedal input, this mode chooses the best Ultimate throttle response.
- Eco Mode: Throttle response is subdued for greater control on loose, uneven surfaces such as when off-road. It offers nine levels and is ideal for off-road, heavy traffic, and low-speed towing maneuvers. It may also help improve the fuel economy of your vehicle.
- Anti-Slip Mode: To increase traction, it reduces throttle response and limits rpm. It offers nine levels of sensitivity to gain more control when driving on slippery surfaces such as snow, ice, and mud.
- Valet Mode: Reduces throttle response while limiting the available throttle to provide approximately 50 percent maximum rpm.
- Factory Mode: Replicates factory throttle settings.
