While everyone is seeing pictures and videos from Moab and Easter Jeep Safari this week online, patrons of the Chicago Auto Show were able to get a taste of the trails and off-roading in a Jeep during last months show.
Moab is a must do item on bucket lists of most off-roaders, but not everyone gets the chance to head to the scenic trails. Jeep brought the trails to attendees of the auto show and let them experience some of the off-roading they would be doing in Utah if actually there.
Every person that came off the trail at the auto show may have just caught the off-road bug if they did not have it already. This demonstration area actually let people see first hand what Jeeps are capable of, and let them do things that you could not do on a normal test drive at a dealership.
The vehicles were put to the test showing their ground clearance, articulation, break-over angle, and more on this indoor course. The highlight of the driver for many people was the 35 degree angle, 18 feet high hill that gave them a bird’s-eye view of the auto show floor, but also replicated the hills in Moab.
Auto show’s are usually show of how the vehicle look, but not actually showing what they can do. This is a great staple to the show and will keep bringing people back. It may not be the actually trails in Moab, but it is the next best thing.
