2027 Ford Super Duty Carhartt Brings Jobsite Durability To The Off-Road World

Heavy-duty truck buyers have never really fit into one box. The same Super Duty that spends weekdays towing equipment or hauling material often spends weekends dragging campers into the backcountry, hauling side-by-sides to trailheads, or crawling through muddy ranch roads long after the pavement ends.

Ford seems to understand that better than ever with the new 2027 Ford Super Duty Carhartt Package — a factory-backed collaboration that merges one of America’s most respected workwear brands with the truck lineup that has dominated the heavy-duty segment for decades.

But unlike flashy appearance packages built for mall parking lots, the new Super Duty Carhartt package was developed around durability, protection, and practical use in harsh environments. Whether that environment is a muddy construction site, a snowy logging road, or a rocky trail leading to camp, the philosophy behind this truck remains the same: build something that can take abuse and keep going.

“It’s centered in function, not decoration,” said John Emmert, Global Director of Ford Pro.

A Super Duty Designed Around Real-World Use

Ford is launching the first-ever Super Duty Carhartt package for 2027 on XLT Crew Cab single-rear-wheel 4×4 pickups. The package combines unique styling cues, all-terrain equipment, added protection, and a purpose-built interior inspired directly by Carhartt’s rugged workwear heritage.

That means this truck isn’t just aimed at contractors and fleet operators. It’s equally appealing to truck owners who live outdoors, tow toys, explore remote trails, and demand the same level of toughness from their truck that they expect from their gear.

Ford says the package includes a unique dark-painted grille, 20-inch machined and painted wheels, LT275/65R20E all-terrain tires, textured off-road running boards, a Tough Bed spray-in bedliner, Carhartt-inspired seating materials, LED lighting upgrades, and exclusive Carhartt graphics throughout the truck.

The result feels more like an overland-ready workhorse than a luxury trim trying to cosplay as an off-road truck.

Off-Road Functionality Hidden In The Details

One of the more interesting elements of the Super Duty Carhartt package is how subtle most of its functional upgrades appear at first glance.

Take the lower-body graphics, for example. Ford intentionally placed the textured Carhartt graphics low on the doors and bed sides because those are the areas most likely to take abuse from gravel, brush, mud, salt, and trail debris.

The truck’s textured off-road running boards are another example. Unlike chrome-heavy steps that become slick or damaged in rough conditions, these were designed specifically to survive dirty boots, mud, snow, and repeated abuse.

Ford also equipped the package with LED roof marker lights, LED reflector lamps, LED fog lamps, and an LED center high-mounted stop lamp. For truck owners who spend time towing trailers at night, navigating remote terrain, or working outdoors after dark, those upgrades add real-world utility.

And yes, the package can be paired with Ford’s FX4 Off-Road Package.

Detroit-Inspired Wheels With Trail-Ready Rubber

The Super Duty Carhartt rides on unique 20-inch painted and machined aluminum wheels wrapped in LT275/65R20E all-terrain tires.

While the tires clearly add capability, the wheel design itself carries a story that ties directly back to the roots of both Ford and Carhartt.

During development, Ford’s design team visited Carhartt’s Detroit flagship store and became fascinated by the industrial textures surrounding the building — including the manhole covers in the street. That unexpected inspiration eventually became the basis for the wheel design.

“When we shared that idea with the Carhartt design team, they agreed that this was the type of thing we all could get behind,” said Steve Gilmore, chief designer for Ford Vehicle Personalization. “It represented the streets of Detroit and the hard work that our customers do every day.”

The package is offered in six exterior colors: Marsh Gray, Iconic Silver Metallic, Agate Black Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Oxford White, and the new-for-2027 Neptune Blue.

Interior Materials Built For Mud, Dirt, And Long Days

Inside, Ford resisted the temptation to turn the Carhartt package into another leather-lined luxury trim. Instead, the cabin leans heavily into durability.

The seats use unique Carhartt-inspired cloth material modeled after the brand’s iconic Duck Canvas fabric. The material was engineered with abrasion resistance and soil and liquid repellency specifically to handle abuse from dirty gear, wet clothing, tools, and long-term wear.

For truck owners who spend weekends around mud, dust, grease, snow, or trail gear, that matters more than polished wood trim ever could.

Triple-stitch construction inspired by Carhartt workwear appears throughout the seats, door panels, and trim pieces. Embroidered Carhartt logos are integrated into the headrests and rear seat map pockets, while the wrapped steering wheel and center console receive accent stitching.

The all-weather floor mats were even designed using textures inspired by Carhartt’s latest tool bags.

Ford designer Bhavna Mistry said the project carried emotional weight because of her own family’s connection to manual labor trades.

“The rugged outfits they wore to protect themselves weren’t just clothing,” Mistry explained. “They were a badge of honor for the cycle of hard work they lived every day.”

She added, “This project isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about honoring the people who rely on their gear and their trucks to build the world.”

Built For The People Who Actually Use Their Trucks

The deeper you look into the Super Duty Carhartt package, the more obvious it becomes that Ford wasn’t chasing a fashion statement.

The truck was developed around customers who use heavy-duty pickups in demanding environments every day — contractors, ranchers, utility workers, farmers, and outdoor-focused truck owners who expect durability from every part of their vehicle.

Ford says the package is designed for the millions of workers across the “Essential Economy” who rely on trucks daily.

Ford notes that the F-Series has been America’s best-selling truck for 49 consecutive years and Canada’s best-selling pickup for 60 straight years. The company also says Super Duty continues to dominate industries like mining, utilities, and emergency vehicle applications.

Availability

The 2027 Ford Super Duty Carhartt package will be available to order beginning May 8, with trucks arriving in Fall 2026.

The package is available on XLT Crew Cab single-rear-wheel 4×4 models equipped with the 40/console/40 seating configuration.

Ultimately, the Super Duty Carhartt feels less like a trim package and more like a reflection of how many truck owners actually live. These trucks tow campers into the mountains, haul UTVs across the desert, drag equipment through muddy job sites, and still show up for work Monday morning.
