Ford introduced the world to what a factory high-speed off-road truck could be with the Raptor in 2010. Ram took things up a notch in 2021 when it launched the first off-road supertruck: the 702 horsepower TRX. Ford followed suit with its own 720 hp Raptor R. And through it all Chevrolet remained silent.
Thankfully, the aftermarket has not let General Motors fans down and one of the greatest desert off-road trucks was launched by the fine folks at Fox Factory in 2024. Created in collaboration with industry leaders and Fox Factory’s Power Vehicle Division, the 2024 Fox Factory Truck is based on a four-wheel-drive Chevrolet Silverado 1500. This ultra-limited pickup was an instant hit, even with its $200,000 price tag.
Fox Factory Silverado: What’s New For 2025
The biggest updates for the Fox Factory Truck’s second year address both comfort and customization. First, the truck is now based on a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ. By moving up to the LTZ trim customers get Chevrolet’s best technology suite along with one of its most premium interior packages.
Buyers also wanted more options for customization when it came to the exterior color of their Fox Factory Truck. For 2025, prospective customers will be able to choose between a palette of standard colors along with a selection of premium upcharge colors. Standard colors now include black, Summit White, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Sterling Gray Metallic, Slate Gray Metallic, Cypress Gray, and Riptide Blue Metallic. The premium color list includes Iconic Silver (Matte), F8 Green (Matte), Mojave Sand (Matte), M9A Crayon Gray (Gloss), Anvil Gray (Gloss), and Orange Crush (Gloss). There’s even a new paint-to-sample program. If you can imagine it, Fox Factory can make it happen.
Accent colors get a refresh as well. Those choosing the Factory Race Edition will get the standard orange contrasting accents while the new Dark Mode Edition swaps orange for more subtle black accents.
Lighting options get an update, as well, with new 12 and 14-pod configurations joining the list along with the standard 8-pod Nacho LED light package. A bed rack lighting package is also available, along with racks that fit either a single or dual spare tires.
Whipple Supercharged Power For The People
Under the skin, much of the 2025 Fox Factory Truck remains the same. Beneath the hood lives a potent 6.2-liter V8 engine fit with a Whipple Gen VI 3.0-liter twin-screw supercharger. The result is 700 hp with 655 lb-ft of torque as measured at the crank. At this output the Fox Factory Silverado finds itself right in line with the Ford F-150 Raptor R at 720 hp 640 lb-ft and Ram TRX (RIP) at 702 hp with 650 lb-ft. Power is routed through GM’s 10L80 10-speed automatic transmission.
Adding the finishing touch is a free-flowing stainless-steel Borla cat-back exhaust, whch provides an attractive exhaust note without being overpowering.
With such great power on tap the rest of the truck’s drivetrain needs to be up to the task as well. Replacing the factory rear axle is a robust AAM Ultimate Dana 60. This new axel features a semi-floating design with 3.73:1 gears, an ARB selectable air locker, and 35-spline chromoly axle shafts. A heavy-duty rear driveshaft with 1350 U-joints is also employed. The factory front axle is fit with a limited-slip differential. RCV-sourced chromoly CV axles are included.
Baja Kits Long Travel Suspension
Horsepower is fun; however, it’s the truck’s suspension that really makes its shine. Up front is a bolt-on long-travel suspension from Baja Kits. Track width is widened by 6.0 inches (3.0 inches per side) pushing overall width to 88.5 inches. Upper control arms are constructed of machined 6061-T6 aluminum while the lower arms are fabricated steel. A heavy-duty version of the OE steering knuckle, along with heavy-duty steering tie rods, finish out the list of hard parts.
Out back is a Baja Kits long-travel trailing arm suspension, which replaces the factory leaf springs. The rear lower trailing arms are crafted from a single piece of 7075-T6 aluminum while the uppers are tubular steel.
Fox 3.2-inch diameter Factory Race Series internal bypass Live Valve coil-overs, with finned recirculating reservoirs, are paired with Fox 2.0-inch Factory Race Series IFP hydraulic bump stops are found at all four corners. A Fox steering damper is employed as well. The combination yields 14.5 inches of useable suspension travel up front with 15.5 inches in the rear.
Enhanced Body & Interior
Adding to the hardcore aesthetic is a full kit of custom bodywork. The truck’s factory hood is replaced by a vented carbon fiber piece that features a center carbon reveal and jeweled accent. Front and rear fenders are constructed of carbon fiber as well and sport injection molded vents with fabric inner liners. Front and rear tubular “prerunner” style bumpers are built of rugged 1.75-inch DOM steel tubing and offer factory parking sensor integration. Frame-mounted recovery points and removeable underbelly skid plates are also standard equipment.
Inside, the truck’s power heated and cooled seats are refinished in custom orange stitched two-tone leather with Alcantara suede inserts and Fox Factory embroidery. The steering wheel receives a leather wrap as well along with an orange stitched center line, carbon fiber accents, and paddle shift integration. A Fox Live Valve control panel along with dash-mounted 6-switch relay system are installed. A serialized dash plaque provides the finishing touch.
