Although the bed of a pickup truck is a great place to store anything you want, it has one major flaw: there isn’t any sort of proper storage system. Everything is basically just thrown into the bed and isn’t sorted into specific compartments.

Decked is a company that’s well known for their storage solutions for full-size pickup trucks. Developing an entire storage solution for mid-size pickup trucks took them a while, but they finally did it and we got to check it out at the SEMA show.

“We launched our full-size product in 2014,” Tim from Decked explained. “We’ve always had customer prospects say, ‘If you had this for mid-size trucks we’d be all over it,’ so we got it into our development schedule. We’re a very small company, with an engineering team of one.”

Decked explained to us that fitting this system into a mid-size truck bed required re-engineering the mounting system. They explained how much easier it was to make the system work in full-size trucks compared to the mid-size trucks.

Decked also mentioned how hard they worked on making this system more waterproof by directing water away from the storage cabinets. This type of system is great if you use your truck for lots of work.

Being able to quickly find what you need is a very nice luxury to have. Plus you’ll still have a strong bed floor on the top of the storage system. Decked showed this off by having a dirt bike on top of the storage system at their SEMA booth.
