Battle Of The Beasts: Red Bull Settles the 2-Wheel vs 4-Wheel Debate

It’s the age-old garage debate: 2-wheel vs 4-wheel—what’s faster when the dirt starts flying?

Red Bull Motorsports decided to put it to the test, pitting two titans of the trail against each other in a showdown for off-road bragging rights. On one side, motocross phenom Carson Brown and his nimble dirt bike. On the other, off-road racing prodigy Seth Quintero, strapped into his beastly 2.5-ton off-road truck.

Three challenges. One winner. Let’s go.

2-wheel vs 4-wheel

Round 1: Drag Race — Straight-Line Speed Showdown

First up: a classic drag race, best-of-three format.

From the jump, Quintero knew he was at a disadvantage. “You weigh 230 pounds. I weigh two and a half tons. So, I think you got the advantage,” he told Brown.

He wasn’t wrong.

Brown exploded off the line every time, effortlessly beating Quintero in all three runs. The dirt bike’s weight and acceleration were simply too much for the four-wheeled machine to overcome in a straight-line sprint.

Round 2: Braking Test — Who Stops Better?

Next, a test of control and stopping power. Both machines had to hit 100 km/h (about 62 mph) and then slam the brakes at a marked line. The shortest stopping distance wins.

This time, the truck’s wide stance and four fat tires made all the difference.

Quintero stomped the pedal and brought his rig to a halt well before the bike could. “Four wheels, baby! I got you on something,” he cheered as he evened the score.

Round 3: Hot Lap — The Ultimate Test

The final test: a high-speed lap through a gnarly mixed-terrain course—featuring flowing dirt turns, a brutal uphill climb, and a full-send terrace section.

Brown took the lead, ripping through the course with a time of 1:39.80. His bike danced through corners and practically flew up the hill.

Watching from the sidelines, Quintero called it: “This is where he’s going to get me. He’s going to jump up this hill, I guarantee.”

He was right. Despite a solid run, Quintero’s truck crossed the line at 1:41.5. The dirt bike’s agility and climbing chops sealed the deal.

Final Score: Dirt Bike Wins 2–1

2-Wheel vs 4-Wheel Takeaway: What Wins on Dirt?

This head-to-head proved one thing: in raw braking power, a four-wheeled truck has the upper hand. But when it comes to acceleration and navigating a technical course, the dirt bike dominates.

And with both riders now setting their sights on the legendary Erzbergrodeo, where bikes and cars battle the same mountain, we’ve got to ask—did this result line up with your expectations?

Let the bench racing begin.
