If you are a fan of 1970 era trucks then you might want to keep reading. Earlier this summer we ran a feature and shop tour highlighting Rob Lindsey from RJ Fabrication. The accomplished high-end car builder and off-road fabricator recently completed the radical reconstruction and makeover of a 1977 Ford F100 PreRunner. Since then the vehicle has been breaking the internet and catching the attention of just about everyone including the aftermarket and performance industry.
Holley Performance recently ran its own feature and brought it back into our focus. Lindsey explains why he chose to upgrade the F100 with the Holley Terminator X EFI specifically, so be sure to click over and give it a read. Additionally, Off Road Xtreme did not want to overlook the opportunity to do a featured vehicle spotlight and share some of the incredible details on this build.
Owned by Mike Linares, this truck is just about the cleanest off-road F100 PreRunner we have seen in awhile. Linares took possession of his new toy at the end of June and has a lot of people lined up wanting to go for a hot lap, us included.
“I am totally stoked on this build,” declared Linares on his Instagram. “This here is one bad bitch. So purdy. So elegant. Perfect in every way possible. If I had a shelf big enough I would place her there. Now this F100 PreRunner will be called Ole Red.”
Mike continued, “What you see here is RJ Fab’s vision of what the coolest F100 can look like. Nothing but perfection and attention to every detail. Truck is immaculate and pristine. It is better than showroom condition.”

When A Truck Builder’s Vision Is Realized In His Own Words
“The overwhelming positive response on Mike’s truck literally blew me away!” Rob Lindsay shared. “I love the off-road community and the people I have chosen to surround myself with. We all push and encourage each other to keep going and doing the best we can as passionate builders. I want to take this opportunity to thank my team for all their hard work and dedication, especially when I’m stressed out and probably not the easiest guy to be around. Also a massive thanks to Mike for trusting us to bring his vision to life and always giving me guidance when it comes to business and personal stuff. You are an old soul my friend! Lastly to all my vendors and partners that make the best products possible allowing us to build some of the coolest machines that I never imagined I’d have a hand in. I am beyond grateful for this life and the people I share it with! I’m rich beyond measure and not talking about money.”

A little backstory on Ole Red; The truck was first commissioned by Dion Chapman and built by Jamie Campbell at RaceCo years ago. Mike Linares made the purchase and fell in love with it for several seasons. Linares brought it to Rob Lindsay to have RJ Fabrication implement some maintenance and it ended up for an extended stay to receive upgrades.
After the revamp, sadly Mike crashed the truck quite severely. Mike and Rob assessed the damage and hatched a plan to redesign the truck so it would be more in line with both the builder and owners desires. Rob Lindsay explained something to us once before. His favorite vehicle builds are when he gets to implement his own creative vision while the vehicle owner would choose what is important to them from a short list.
Mike recalled what that went like, “At this point everything we had done before went out the window. With my busy schedule I decided to have Rob do what he wanted to the f100 as if it were his own. I just wanted to help pick the color and Ac and a lush interior. The rest was up to him.”
After seeing this truck up close and in person, the details are flawless and the whole package is well executed front to back. It is a job well done and the finest purpose built off-road F100 PreRunner we have ever seen.
