Video: Bully Dog At Jeep Beach 2016

Every year, Jeep enthusiasts head to spots all over the United States to enjoy their vehicle. No matter what coast you live on, there is an event for you. Out West, Moab and the Rubicon Trail are the dominant ones; back East there is Jeep Beach.

Jeep Beach takes place in Daytona Beach, Florida. This year’s event at Daytona International Speedway included an obstacle course in the infield of the stadium and attempted to break the world record for the most Jeeps assembled in one area.

Jeep Beach brings Jeep lovers from all over the United States to sunny Daytona Beach, Florida.

This year’s event was one of the best yet. It featured 16 charities, 170 vendors, 6,008 spectators, and 2,441 paid participants who all had one thing in common – owning a Jeep. Among the vendors on-site was Bully Dog , who headed out to the event to showcase its GT Platinum Tuner.

With the touch of a button a vehicle's power can be unlocked, providing more smiles per gallon.

What a better way to get real world feedback than from the owners of vehicles with the tuner installed? Even better is an event that allows owners to go out and use the vehicle. Jeep owner Jeff Turnbull came out to the event with his Jeep. “Owning a Jeep, it [the tuner] gave me a sense of freedom,” he said.

Fellow Jeep owner Scott Pauls also commented on the freedom of owning a Jeep. “You get to ride around with no doors or roof on and drive around on a nice day while enjoying nature,” he said.

Owning a Jeep is more than just driving it during the week. These vehicles get used and abused on the weekend, allowing enthusiasts to escape from reality for the time being. Jeeps also allow owners to customize the vehicle to their own preferences, whether it be a mild lift or an extreme rockcrawler overhaul.

With all the modifications performed, Jeep owners need to look at one common product: Bully Dog and its GT Platinum Tuner. This unique product will have your Jeep riding more like it did from the factory.

We spoke with Doug Rust of Bully Dog about the products key features. “This tuner includes five customizable gauges which allow you to monitor RPM, engine temps, transmission temps, battery voltage, engine load, and more,” Rust explained.

  • Auto door locks
  • Axle lockers
  • Axle ratio
  • Coolant temperature warning
  • Daytime running lights
  • Disable traction control
  • Engine fan

“With these tools, you can correct your OEM speedometer for aftermarket tires, wheels, and axle ratios,” Rust explained. “These trail tools also allow for easy control of the sway bar disconnect, axle lockers, and traction control. If that’s not enough, you can now also control vehicle idle speed and engine fan for water crossings.”

It is one thing for a manufacturer to explain that a product does something, but to hear it from a fellow enthusiast means something more.

“After I lifted the Jeep and put bigger tires on it, it was just horrible, Pauls said. “There was no power, the transmission was always hunting a gear, and it was miserable to drive around town. Just by plugging in the Bully Dog tuner, it became more fun to drive.”

Turnbull had a similar reaction when he installed his tuner. “Right out of the box it made a difference. I like that I am able to control a whole bunch of features from the display on the unit,” he said.

Bully Dog also offers performance testing software which allows owners to download logged performance test from the tuner and output the results onto a PC. There is nothing like being able to truly see how your vehicle performed.

Having an off-road vehicle is about going out and having fun getting the vehicle dirty. The Bully Dog GT Platinum Tuner allows Jeep owners to do just that. For a complete list of vehicles that the tuner can be installed in, be sure to check out Bully Dog’s website.
