It is that time of year again, the SEMA Show has come and gone and it is time to head South of the border for the 2015 SCORE Baja 1000. This year’s race is a loop race that starts and finishes in Ensenada. The course will take teams on approximately a 840 mile adventure.

The course is one of the longest loop races in years. One of the most exciting parts of this year’s race is the new section. “The El Rosario part of this years course will have 100-percent new course. It also increases the total miles that this year’s Baja 1000 will be,” announced Roger Norman.

We also have another first in this year’s race. The Georgia Southern University Eagle Motorsports have set out to be the first collegiate team to race the Baja 1000 in a UTV.

During this year’s race we will be riding along with Chinolas Motorsports and their Class 10, number 1075 based out of Ensenada, checking out what is happening during the race. We are excited to be down in Baja for the race and see how things vary from the races here in the states.

From Vegas to Baja, the top five trophy trucks off the line will be:

1. Ricky Johnson (Justin Matney)
2. Gus Vildosola Jr.
3. Bryce Menzies
4. Rob MacCachren
5. Robby Gordon

These trucks were not only on display, but qualified during the SEMA Show last week in Las Vegas. There are nearly 250 entries are expected from 30 U.S. States and 20 countries with competition in Pro and Sportsman classes for cars, trucks, UTVs, motorcycles and quads.

Off Road Xtreme will be out covering the Baja 1000 so make sure you keep checking back for updates through out the week as we cover everything from contingency to race day.
