A bug out vehicle, commonly referred to as a BOV, is a car or truck that is specially made and outfitted to aid someone in leaving a place fast in case of an emergency or disaster. These vehicles are designed to be able to transport a person and their essentials to a safe area, which could be either the chosen “bug out” destination or a location further away.

Any vehicle can serve as a BOV. However, four-wheel drive vehicles with the ability to traverse rugged terrain are typically advised. Food, drink, shelter, medical supplies, and tools should all be included in the vehicle. Additionally, a BOV must have plenty of storage space.
