While browsing through the Insurance Auto Auctions website this week, we came across what appears to the be a textbook wrecked truck. We found a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche four-wheel-drive Z71 that has seen better days.
The Avalanche was in a rollover accident. The damage is apparent right away, with not a single exterior side untouched from damage. Both the left and right sides of the vehicle are loaded with body and suspension destruction.
Whatever sub-frame lift this Avalanche had, it does the pickup no good now. You can see at least the dual shock setup, which still looks like its okay, but everything else comes across as less than working condition. The front driver side tire and axle are still attached together, but not where they belong.
There is not much on this truck that remained intact following the rollover. The interior even looks like it was thrown all over the place, with everything landing randomly from being flipped right-side up.
Passenger Side Damage
The driver of this truck must have been doing some serious off-roading when this rollover happened and if they weren’t, they had one serious ride nevertheless. You can tell by everything that is done to the truck from the lift, wheels and tires, AIRAID intake, and all the exterior lights that the owner had a real passion for off-pavement rampaging.
The truck has 109,042 miles on it, and the motor will not start, so it may be very tough to get this truck back on the road as little is left that would not need to be fixed. Surprisingly, both air bags are still undeployed, which could be a good thing or a bad thing if you were inside.
Engine And Interior
It is sad to say but even at the right price I just do not know if this truck will ever see its glory days again. It had fun in the dirt and whoever, if anyone, gets this needs to send it off with a Viking burial. We always want to see a truck get back on the road; we just do not see it happening here. How about you?
