It is always fun to browse the Insurance Auto Auctions website to see what people have put their pride and joys through. This week, while looking through the thousands of vehicles on there, we came across this gem. It’s a 2014 Ford F150 FX4, with only 8,799 miles. From the pictures you can immediately tell something is wrong with it–a key component of the truck is missing.
This 2014 Ford FX4 does come with a very nice interior that includes the factory leather seats with red piping and oversized touch screen radio display. It has four-wheel-drive and the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost engine, which does start according to the ad. You even get the all-weather rubber floor mats. On the exterior of the truck, there’s a light and dark grey stripe down the side with matching hood. The truck also has aftermarket wheels as well as side steps to help get in.
The good, the bad, and the ugly
What the FX4 does NOT come with is your driver front wheel, tire, and spindle assembly. You may also be missing a front axle as well. There is some damage from the driver fender down the side of the body. You also need to find a way to reattach your side mirror. With no pictures of the underside, we can only speculate what damage there may be to the undercarriage.
One can only hope that this beauty was able to see some dirt before it came to a crashing halt. If the mud thrown up on the bottom side of the bed from the rear tires is any indication, it appears like it was out having fun. At least by this we have hope that a bolt just did not come loose over a speed bump while it was mall crawling.
Altogether, this looks like a great find for someone with a little mechanical experience. The body damage is not much and a new front fender will fix most of it. Find a matching wheel may be difficult as well as any lift kit parts that may be missing, but we think this Ford should see another day out on the trails.
