Women’s motocross is officially stepping onto its biggest stage yet.

The Women’s Motocross Championship (WMX) announced that beginning in 2026, the series will be fully integrated into the SuperMotocross (SMX) League, marking a historic milestone for female athletes in off-road racing. The move is bolstered by a presenting-level partnership with Synchrony, officially branding the series as the Women’s Motocross Championship Powered by Synchrony.

After a standout 2025 season that showcased the depth of talent in women’s motocross, the 2026 campaign represents a turning point—both in exposure and opportunity.

Six-Round National Championship, Bigger Spotlight

The 2026 WMX season will once again feature six rounds held alongside the prestigious AMA Pro Motocross Championship. Each round will unfold over two days, with Moto 1 on Fridays and Moto 2 on Saturdays, placing WMX racing directly in front of larger crowds and broadcast audiences.

For the first time, WMX will benefit from broadcast coverage on Peacock across all six rounds, with additional global exposure through SMX Video Pass. Saturday motos will now run alongside the sport’s biggest names, providing unprecedented visibility for women racers.

“This is a landmark moment for the WMX and all female enthusiasts within the motocross community,” said Tim Cotter, Director of MX Sports. “We now have a true global stage to showcase their talents with vital partnership support.”

2026 WMX Schedule Highlights

The championship kicks off at one of the most iconic venues in American motocross before spanning the country:

  • Hangtown Motocross Classic (CA): June 5–6
  • Thunder Valley National (CO): June 12–13
  • High Point National (PA): June 19–20
  • Unadilla National (NY): August 14–15
  • Budds Creek National (MD): August 21–22
  • Ironman National (IN): August 28–29

WMX Heads to the SMX World Championship Final

Perhaps the biggest news is WMX’s addition to the Monster Energy SMX World Championship Final on September 26. The postseason showcase race will feature the top female riders in the world competing under the lights at the sport’s most high-profile event.

“As the SMX World Championship continues to grow, WMX will play an integral role in that expansion,” said Dave Prater, Vice President of Supercross for Feld Motor Sports.

Synchrony Steps In As Presenting Partner

Synchrony’s involvement goes beyond a logo on the gate. Through its Synchrony Outdoors division, the company has become a strong advocate for women in powersports, supporting initiatives like the Babes in the Dirt Off-Road Adventure Series and partnering with manufacturers and race teams across the industry.

“Sponsoring WMX is a natural extension of Synchrony’s commitment to the powersports community,” said Susan Medrano, SVP and GM of Synchrony Outdoors. “Women are bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to motocross, and we’re excited to amplify their impact on the sport.”

The partnership positions WMX for its largest platform to date, helping elevate the series into one of the premier women’s racing championships in the world.

A Defining Moment For Women’s Off-Road Racing

From expanded broadcast coverage to racing on the SMX World Championship stage, the 2026 season signals a new era for women’s motocross. With factory-level tracks, national exposure, and growing industry support, WMX athletes are no longer racing on the sidelines—they’re front and center.
