Some interesting developments are going on over at Bestop. Recently, we’ve seen firsthand how the new Sunrider for Hardtop is a useful and enjoyable product to use, as well as how to keep it clean (stay tuned for those articles!).
But we were excited to check out the company’s Facebook page the other day and see a new Jeep JK project in the works, with a picture showing it parked in front of Trail Jeeps in Golden, Colorado. We reached out to Cassie Hughes to get the inside scoop on what it all means.
“This green JK is a new addition to the Bestop fleet of vehicles,” she told us. “It will allow us to attempt and conquer just about any trail at any events we go to, and we go to many! We want it to be the most aggressive build we have ever done.”
According to Cassie, the Jeep is going to be at this year’s SEMA Show in November, as well as a number of major trail events in 2017 and beyond. “We want the build to be finished by the middle of this month,” she said. “Well, if you can ever truly finish a Jeep build, that is! We will be posting some photos of what has been done, but the true debut will be at SEMA.”
Last year, Bestop was proud to showcase new products like the PowerBoard running boards (top) and Sunrider for Hardtop (bottom). What's in store for 2016? We'll have to wait until early November to find out!
Cassie couldn’t give us every little detail just yet, as there were a few new Bestop products being installed. These will be revealed at the SEMA Show, which is just around the corner – 10/31-11/4. We at Off Road Xtreme can only guess what these products will be, but Cassie gave us a clue.

The nameless Jeep (a social media contest will be starting soon to decide its name) is over at Trail Jeeps in Golden, Colorado to undergo its transformation in time for the 2016 SEMA Show. Partners in the build include Dynatrac, Mickey Thompson, Superwinch, S-POD, and more.
“I can tell you two or three new Bestop products will be displayed on this beauty,” hinted Cassie. “Already-released products include our Element doors with enclosures, JK Seat Covers, Floor Liners, and some of our storage items.”
Bestop is also working with several other companies to really make this Jeep stand out. These companies include Dynatrac, JKS Manufacturing, Nitto, Mickey Thompson, JCR, ARB, Superwinch, and S-POD. “And how could we not mention the new members to the Bestop family, Baja Designs and Tuffy,” Cassie added. “They sent over some amazing products to add to this build!”
With all of this support – not to mention hush-hush surprises in store – we are very intrigued by what Bestop and the other companies will do to make this an outstanding Jeep build. Go check out the company’s website and Facebook page, and watch out for our upcoming SEMA coverage when the time comes.
