BJ Baldwin took on some of the toughest terrain in the the United States last week for the Best in the Desert, Vegas to Reno race. Helping Baldwin through all the terrain was Toyo Tires.
The week started with qualifying on a dry lake bed near Jean, Nevada where BJ Baldwin made fast time around the course. He was able to qualify fourth. BJ Baldwin would hope to jump out in front and get the win in front of his home town Las Vegas crowd.
Race day came, and temperatures were well above 115 in most areas along the course. The terrain that Baldwin would face would hold nothing back.
BJ was able to jump ahead spots on corrected time. His Toyo Tires were helping him get the traction he needed to make his way to the top and win the longest off-road race in the United States.
Race day would end with BJ Baldwin on the podium in third place. He was able to battle the Nevada desert overcome some adversity along the way. “I was probably a little too aggressive in certain parts of the race and it cost me,” said Baldwin.
BJ Baldwin may have not been on top of the podium this race but he will bring his Toyo Tires down to Baja later this year. He is looking to win once again, after winning back to back Baja 1000 in 2012 and 2013.
Toyo Tires will be there every step of the way making sure that Fedor, the name for his trophy truck, have the traction they need to win once again.
