Great news for TORC fans, today it was announced that The Off Road Championship will be returning to Chicagoland Speedway in 2015 for the first time since 2013. The event will take place June 18-20th as a part of the NASCAR Nationwide Series. TORC debuted at the event in 2010 and grew to a point where 2012 and 2013 saw capacity crowds. However, 2014 saw the elimination of Chicagoland Speedway from the TORC schedule.
For TORC, returning to the motorsports facility was always a top priority. “Returning to Chicago has been a focus of ours ever since receiving the news about not being able to race there in 2014,” said TORC President BJ Birtwell. “The team at Chicagoland and Route 66 Raceway have been fantastic to work with and I’m thrilled to say that TORC racing is coming back to the great fans of the Chicago area. We are holding nothing back to make sure our event here is bigger than it’s ever been.”
The TORC series wraps up its 2014 campaign this weekend at the Keys to the Big House in Crandon, Wisconsin. The Pro 4, Pro 2, and Pro lite classes will crown their 2014 champions at one of the largest events of the year. NBC Sports will televise the event on September 6th, but if you can’t wait that long, there will be free live web streaming of this weekend’s races will be available via TORCSeries.com.
