Southern California is a hot spot for the off-road world, with tons of events and some of the best drivers building their rigs in the area. There are quite a few off-road events per year, but Off Road Nights is known as one of the best. Last year, the event drew in hundreds of spectators and dozens of exhibitors, and this year was no different. Of course, we were there for the entire event and got to see everything the event had to offer. We already showed you some of our top favorite vehicles, and now we are going to show you our favorite wheel/tire combos.
BFG Baja T/A + Method MR101
Our first pick of the three happens to be the most colorful. These particular BF Goodrich Baja T/A tires are sized in 37×12.5R17, which is a great size for a prerunner or rock crawler. The tires themselves have a very aggressive sidewall and almost had a retro look with the tread pattern, which happens to go great with the polished center of the Method MR101 wheels have a somewhat retro vibe to them. On the outside of those MR101 wheels are real beadlocks painted in red, none of that fake stuff. On the side of the tire is a blue and red BF Goodrich logo which matches the red paint of the bead lock very well.
Kanati Mud Hog + Icon Six Speed
This next tire is toned down quite a bit compared to the first, as it completely lacks any wild color. Starting from the center are some ICON Six Speed wheels finished in dark grey Gunmetal color. The split six-spoke design has become very popular in the last five years, and it really looks good on pretty much any vehicle. Wrapped around those wheels are Kanati Mud Hog tires which have a very aggressive side wall and really compliment the wheels nicely.
Falken Wildpeak M/T + Raceline RT232
Last, but certainly not least, is the flashiest wheel/tire combo of the three. The wheels are Raceline RT232 bead locks which have a polished face but are black on the sides of the spokes, and also have a black cutout in the middle of the spoke. The lip of the wheel is also black, but it’s hidden behind a polished beadlock which finishes off the design very well. Wrapped around that Raceline wheel is a Falken Wildpeak M/T tire which has the least aggressive sidewall of the bunch, the tread is nice and aggressive like an M/T tire should be.
