Although most of us here in the United States don’t see the horrific effects of the kind of human trafficking that goes on in places such as Asia, South and Central America, and Africa, it is present here in our own country. If you are not sure what the term means, human trafficking is the illegal trade in human beings for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation or forced labor.
Around the world, 1.2 million children are trafficked each year–approximately 17,500 in the United States. In 2012, nearly 50 commercially exploited children were identified and rescued in the Denver metropolitan area. Set Them Free’s mission is to provide the necessary support and resources for trafficking survivors.
TNT Customs is sponsoring Set Them Free’s June 27-29, 2014, Buena Vista, Colorado, off-road trail weekend event, and the goal for this year’s event is to raise $30,000 to help save lives and increase awareness. You can help by getting out and running some trails with your 4×4 during the event.
Set Them Free, a Castle Rock, Colorado-based non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and support of human trafficking victims, is hosting the weekend 4×4 event to help fight human trafficking and exploitation. Registration/donation includes two days of trail runs, a catered dinner, live music, breakfast, raffle, and awards. The proceeds fund the rescue and restoration of victims.
The off-road trail event HQ is the Arrowhead Point Campground, 33975 US Hwy 24N, Buena Vista, Colorado 81211. Registration cost is $50/vehicle and driver; $25/passengers or additional drivers ages 21+; $20/passenger ages 12-20; FREE for riders 11-years and younger. For more information, contact the Set Them Free Off Road Event website or check out its Facebook page.
