As we the summer warms up across the nation so does the competition heading into rounds nine and 10 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) to be held at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California. The California track, with a storied history and famous for its mix of motocross, Ultra4 Racing, and fast and exciting short-course buggie and truck will soon see the competitors that came off rounds seven and eight from the Toole, Utah, Miller Motorsports Park event just a few weeks earlier.

It was at this Utah track where Team M/T racers were standing on the podium once again during the 2014 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing season. “Track conditions were tough … and the rough terrain and deep ruts made it a challenge for the racers,” stated Ken Warner, VP of Marketing for Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels. “The Mickey Thompson tires performed well, and it was fantastic to see these racers consistently make it to the podium.”

“We’re looking forward to seeing the competition come back to California in August, and wish all the racers the best as we go into the second half of this incredible 15-event series.” remarked Warner. Pro 2 competitor Brian Deegan earned a first place podium finish in round seven, and a third place finish in round eight on Mickey Thompson Baja Pro tires, and Deegan now leads the point standings in Pro 2. In Pro Lite, Deegan earned a first place podium finish in round seven, and a second place podium finish in round eight on the new Mickey Thompson Baja ATZP3 tires, giving him a strong second place standing in the points.

In Pro Buggy, Chad George earned a first place podium finish in round seven, and a second place podium finish in round eight giving him the lead in the points standings for the class. Garrett George is giving his cousin, Chad a run for the money with a strong second place standing. Dave Mason Jr., who earned a third place finish in round seven, is now third in the points standings in Pro Buggy.

All of these Team M/T racers compete with Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T tires. The next round of LOORRS competition takes place August 1-2 at Glen Helen Raceway.
