There’s nothing quite as fun as a good old fashioned road trip with your buddies, but in the off-road community, this can take on a whole new meaning. For Ashley and Brittany Hill, known as “The Jeep Girls,” their recent cross-country trip involved more than interstate highways and tourist destinations, and lucky for us, they wrote all about it on Chrysler’s blog site.
With a Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler at their disposal, the Hill girls recently took off on their annual tour of the Western Slope, making sure to check out the scenery in Grand Junction, Moab and Telluride. But even though this trip had been done before, the Hills were in for a memorable adventure.
Meeting new people is always a highlight of the girls’ trip and when it led to predictions of a great year to come, information about the rising of the “blood moon” and knowledge of an upcoming meteor shower, the time spent at Woody’s World Famous Tavern was worth more than what the girls bargained for.
With this trip marking the girls’ official kickoff to spring, Ashley and Brittany enjoyed hiking through Arches National Park, a trek down Hell’s Revenge in Moab by moonlight, a fantastic meteor show and their own version of a wildlife safari. Once in Telluride, the girls ended their trip with a stay at Victorian Inn complete with fresh cinnamon rolls and plenty of friendly faces.
Inspired by their journey and the many new and old friends they met along the way, Ashley and Brittany are hoping to continue their adventure throughout 2014.
Truly women enjoying their own version of an annual road trip, we hope these two young ladies inspire other female off-road enthusiasts to follow their dreams and find adventures of their own.
