The Raptor Rally is an all-new event for 2024 and it’s swooping into the Ford Performance Off-Road Area in Fairfield, Utah, on September 21. It’s going to be a full day of everything Ford Raptor, and it’ll include sand drag, rock crawl, trail driving, Baja-style courses, and more. It’s open to F-150 Raptor, Bronco Raptor, and Ranger Raptor vehicles.
Vehicle-specific off-road events have been popular for decades. The Raptor Rally is one of the newest, and it makes total sense. The F-150 Raptor is one of the most out-of-the-box-capable 4x4s in the world. Now that the Bronco and Ranger have received Raptor DNA, even more Raptor vehicles are lurking in the wild.
2024 Raptor Rally Trail Rides, Ride-Alongs, And Driving Exercises
The Raptor Rally gates open at 6 a.m. and there’s a full schedule of things to do until 7 p.m. For example, there will be two ride courses. One is called the Ranger & Bronco Baja Driving Mode Experience. Participants will belt into Ford Performance Driving School vehicles and experience a ride-along on a Baja-style course. The other ride course is called the F-150 Baja, and it offers a ride-along experience in a F-150 Raptor in Baja mode.
Participants can point their personal Raptor vehicle to trails if they wish. Trail 1 is around 4 miles in length, and it has an intermediate rating. Trail 2 is approximately 8.5 miles, and it has a difficult rating. Stock Raptor vehicles are recommended for trail rides. Additional hands-on events include three driving exercises that owners can do with their Raptor. Exercise 1 is called “Jumping Technique: Send it,” Exercise 2 is “Sand Drag: Pedal Down, Dust Up,” and Exercise 3 is “Rock Crawl: Tackle The Hard Places.” Yes, participants who choose to participate in the driving exercises will experience the capabilities of their Raptors as they jump, sand drag, and rock crawl. Like the trail rides, stock Raptor vehicles are recommended.
Meet And Greet, Workshops, And More
Of course, there are a number of other events at the 2024 Raptor Rally. For example, at an exclusive meet and greet participants can chat with professional off-road racers Vaughn Gittin Jr., Lauren Healy, and Chris Polvoorde. Raptor owners will also have the chance to win a ride with these drivers. Additionally, members of the Ford Engineering team will be on hand. Throughout the day there will be photo ops, vendors, expert-led workshops, and more.
One of the cool things about the Raptor Rally is that participants can choose what they wish to do from a long list of options. These are in addition to the ride-alongs, driving exercises, trail rides, and meet and greets. For example, there are seven different workshops. They include how to prepare and execute a vehicle recovery, an overview of off-road driving techniques, and a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to run the 2023 Baja 1000 in a Raptor.
