We could very well spend hours perusing the classifieds on Pirate4x4.com. Side-by-sides, Jeeps, K5 Blazers and more are always getting posted up and attracting feverish forum members to spill forth not just their praise, but their bank savings as well.

Just recently, a user named hitman_1b took a look at his heavily modified ’98 Tacoma and decided it was high time to turn it into cash. He made a post on March 14 advertising the vehicle, which currently resides in central Pennsylvania and is, as of this writing, still up for grabs.

“I got this in a trade deal a few months back,” explains hitman_1b. “Wheels nice, but I have other things going on and would like to see it go to someone who will use it. I’ve changed some things since I got it, but very little.” What follows is a litany of mods that would have any rock crawling enthusiast drooling in envy.

Suspension is comprised of a double-triangulated four-link rear with FOX coilovers and an Antirock sway bar, as well as a three-link front with FOX coilovers, PAC springs, and limiting straps. Power comes down the stock 3.4-liter Toyota V6 to an Atlas four-speed transfer case, and then out to a front high-pinion KP axle with 5.38:1 gears and a Detroit Locker and a rear Dana 60 with 5.38:1 gears.

Other defining features include the 15-gallon fuel cell, 42-inch Irok tires, Corbeau seats, and a WARN 9,000-pound winch using Amsteel synthetic line. Oh yeah, and we can’t forget the exocage. Taken all at once, this rig is a far cry from its Toyota origins, but one that we’d gladly take to Moab any day of the week–if only it weren’t so far away.
