It is that time of year where vehicle manufacturers start to release the next year’s models. Can-Am recently released its 2020 side-by-side lineup that includes an upgrade and more power to the Maverick X3 to take the industry lead.

The Maverick X3 changed the styling on side-by-sides when it was first unveiled in 2017. Since then Can-Am has been pushing the market further and further with each model release and once again in the 2020 model with the all-new Maverick X3 Turbo RR engine.

The Turbo RR engine supplies an industry leading 195 horsepower with 135 lb-ft of torque. This is a gain of 23 horsepower and 11 lb-ft of torque from the new Rotax mill. To be able to get this power Can-Am has added a larger turbo, intercooler, and a less restrictive airbox to increase airflow.

Internally, the new Rotax engine uses a Rotax-manufactured turbo and pistons to assure maximum quality. The CVT was also recalibrated to match the new performance levels and improve belt longevity.

The suspension on the all-new 2020 Maverick X3 was also looked at. It features a 72-inch track width with a suspension calibrated for performance. The result is one-inch more ground clearance, a total of 16 inches of clearance, than previous models.

All X rs packages include new tire widths. The package utilizes a 9-inch front tire and an 11-inch rear. The new widths help improve traction, steering kickback, and makes sure that the vehicle works properly regardless of the terrain. Other 2020 updates include new wheels and tires on Maverick X3 X rc Turbo RR and Maverick X3 X rs Turbo RR, X rc Turbo RR also includes 32-inch Maxxis Liberty tires and 15-inch wheels.

Even the interior gets some updates in 2020 with a new digital display that improves first-glance visibility. The base Maverick X3’s receive a multifunction 4.5-inch design and all Maverick X3 X-package vehicles now include a 7.6-inch premium digital display with an onboard keypad that simplifies drive mode, trip, and DPS selection.

• $18,999: The base model Maverick X3 has 120 horsepower and 64-inch track width.
• $20,999: Maverick X3 DS Turbo R package which features 172 horsepower and 64-inch track width.
• $25,000: Maverick X3 X ds Turbo RR has the new 195 horsepower Rotax Turbo RR engine, FOX 2.5 Podium RC2 shocks, and Smart-Lok.
• $22,499: The Maverick X3 RS Turbo R package, complete with FOX 2.5 Podium QS3 shocks,  72-inch track width.
• $28,999: Maverick X3 MAX X mr Turbo RR four-seat, 64-inch track width.
