The SEMA Action Network (SAN) is expanding its commitment to off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation. Unreasonable government actions limiting motorized recreation have long been a problem.
SAN is a nationwide partnership between vehicle clubs, enthusiasts and members of the specialty auto parts industry who want to protect their hobby. SAN fights legislation that shuts down trails and land that restricts the use of that land. They also send out action alerts to generate an abundance of responses to state and/or federal legislative actions and regulatory proposals.
In current years it has been battling to keep land from being turned into National Parks, which ultimately disallows all off-roading. Many of the trails and areas being shut down have been being used for generations, with many families returning year after year.
Politicians and regulators are being lobbied from many different directions on how to manage millions of acres of federal public lands. The SAN is at the table as an advocate for motorized recreation.
SAN is very involved with the off-road community making sure manufactures of off-road parts and the people who use them will continue to have a place to go. The SEMA Action Network has created a newsletter, The Navigator, to help the off-road community stay on top of the latest legislation, making everyone aware of what is going on.
To stay on top of the latest legislation that is affecting the off-road community, visit the SEMA Action Network’s website. With everyone’s help we will be able to continue to enjoy all of the off-road trails we currently use.
